It Only Took A Year

While at the river with The Mafiosos recently, I started to wonder why Carmela never explores the water. She doesn't display the slightest interest in approaching it and generally avoids it like the plague. I was just about to decide that she'd probably never go in for a dip, when in she went to the water. I swear, she did it just to mess with me.

"Oh, I totally do this all the time.
You just never pay attention," says Carmela.

"What the hell?" ask Vinnie and Gino.
"You can swim?!"

"Duh! It's only like my second
favorite hobby," replies Carmela.

Alrighty then. It would appear that we now have a Chihuahua that enjoys swimming. Next up, she'll impress me with her karate skills or something.

"Ack!!
Someone please tell that giant meathead
to stop making tsunamis!!" screams Carmela.

Skillz

The Mafiosos took one last outing to the river before the weather gets too chilly and makes water activities impossible.

While in the water, Bruno showed off his awesome stick fetching skills. I didn't post any pictures of said display because, well, I don't want to give Bruno a big head. Wait, correct that! I don't want to give him a bigger head. But he did manage to show off some other skills I was unaware of and these I did document.

For instance, he decided to show off his awesome water-jowls skill:

He also decided to show off his amazing water-ears skill:

"Yeah, I pretty much have
like tons of skills, " informs Bruno.

"Uh oh," says Carmela.
Gino's trying to show off his stick skills."

"Get ready for a
testosterone-filled challenge," warns Carmela.

"That's right!" exclaims Gino.
"I have mad stick skills!"

"Acknowledge my mad stick skills, Bruno!"
demands Gino.

"He's still behind me isn't he?" asks Bruno.

"Dammit!
LOOK AT MY STICK!" screams Gino.

"Oh, Lord.
Now Bruno's really done it.
You better have your camera ready, Ma!"

What the?! Is that a submarine? A snorkeler?

"Nah, it's just Gino showing off," explains Vinnie.

Search...And Rescue?

I want to thank all of you for your comments and for taking the time to introduce yourselves! It was great reading all of your comments and getting a glimpse of our reader's lives. It is such a trip knowing we have readers from all over the world! We thank you all for letting us know who you are. :-)

Alrighty, well, this week we set out to take out The Mafiosos on an outing to the river since the weather was particularly warm. It works out quite nicely when there is a large body of water nearby to cool down for hot dogs.

Usually, there's not much activity out on the river. We don't usually encounter much excitement. We do sometimes draw a crowd when walking all four dogs. People inevitably make comments ranging from the size of the dogs to the breeds. It's expected and we're used to it...

Only this time, no one made any comments. No one even glimpsed our way. I felt that was a tad bit odd since usually there is one person who will make a comment. It wasn't until I heard the helicopter that I figured out there was excitement down on the river...

It was hovering very well close to use. I could feel the pulsating chop of the propeller.

After some probing, I was able to find out a 9-1-1 call had been made reporting a body seen floating in the river. That explained the search boat that kept making it's way up and down the section of the river we frequent.

Later on in the day, it was reported that no body had been found and the search was called off. I had a stern talk with The Mafiosos about returning to the scene of a crime and they've all agreed to tighten the ropes on the rules.

3 Stooges (Minus One)

"Ma!!!
Bruno's running again with big sticks.
You know that's a recipe for disaster!"

"Get outta my way, Pug!
I'll spear you! I will!
I'll do it!"

.

"HEY! NOT FUNNY!" shouts Gino
"Stop chasing me with that stick!
Dude, you're gonna whack me in the..."

::::duck::::
"HEAD!!!"

"Ma!!!!
Grab your camera!
Burno's being 'special' again!" shouts Carmela.

Oh Lord...

Punk'd: Bruno

Hey, Gino!" exclaims Vinnie.

"Let's play a trick on Bruno. Let's tell him
we saw an alligator in the river."

"Bruno, run!!" shout the Pugs.
"There's an alligator in the river!!"

"OMG! Ayyyyy!" screams Bruno!

"Hehehe! You're catching all this
on film, right Ma?" asks Vinnie.

"ALLIGATOR!!!!" shouts Carmela.
"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"

Ok, Pugs. Not funny. Now everyone is running in a panic thinking there really are alligators in the river. Bruno, Carmela: there really are no alligators in the river. Your brothers are just being buttheads.

"Ma! NOT COOL!" whines Vinnie.
"Why did you have to spoil the fun?"

"I knew there weren't any alligators
in the river, Ma!" verifies Bruno.

"Stupid Pugs," says Carmela.

An Oldie For the Masses

Oy vey!

I am sorry to not be keeping up with the Mafioso adventures.

Ryan has been working non-stop overtime and I think I'm about to put his picture on a milk carton;I haven't seen him in days!

A many of you know, I recently landed a new job. This means my hours have changed. I no longer work the 4/10 shifts and am back to the M-F, 9-5 grind. So in essence, I only have Sundays off due to dog training on Saturdays. Bare with me while I adjust to the new schedule!

I promise to be back in action soon...and if I play my cards right, with a new camera! I am praying that Santa hopefully brings me a SLR this year!

Without further adieu...

The North Folk American River Adventure!

Today's Mission: Conquer the North Folk American River:

"Come on in! The water's just right!"
(Well, at the time it was!)

"No! We need to guard the rocky shores..."

"And the sand basin..."

"We cannot succumb to the waters!
We have a duty to uphold as the Fun Police!"

"Cannot. Be. Tempted. By. The. Water. Must resist!"

"Screw it! Let's have some fun!"

"OOooh! This water is so refreshing!"

"I think I'll go for a little swim..."

"Me too!"

"Ha! Ha! Bruno is so dumb!
He thinks he can breathe underwater!"

"Vinnie's right. You are REALLY dumb."

"I'm not dumb, right Ma?"

"Scroll all the way to see me conquering the river!"

"We are so tired. It's not easy being the Fun Police!"
