Something about this photo of Carmella has made me completely misty eyed. It's a sense of waiting, the promise of wonderful change to come, the weight of the world--all at the same time.
I think your wee one senses this. She will have a little babe to protect. And, she won't be the new one any longer...change is coming :). And it will be good.
